Refund Policy

This policy applies to all fee payments made through the Bishop Cotton Boys' School
Fee Portal ("the Portal") using online payment methods.
1. General Principle
School fees, once paid, are generally non-refundable. This reflects
the School's commitment of resources to each student's education for the academic year.
Exceptions are set out below.
2. Failed or Duplicate Payments
- Amount deducted but no receipt generated: If your bank account was debited
but the Portal did not generate a receipt, the payment will be automatically reversed by
PayU to your source account within 5–7 working days. If the reversal does
not appear within 7 working days, contact the Fee Office with your bank reference number.
- Duplicate payment: If the same fee demand is paid twice, the second
payment will be treated as an advance credit against future dues or refunded at the
School's discretion within 15 working days of a written request from
the parent.
3. Withdrawals and TC (Transfer Certificate)
- If a student withdraws from the School mid-term, tuition fees are not refundable
for the term in which the withdrawal occurs.
- Transport fees — if a student permanently discontinues the school bus
service, a pro-rata refund of the remaining transport fee (calculated from the month
following written notice to the School transport office) may be considered at the
School's discretion.
- The caution deposit (if applicable) is refundable at the time of final
settlement upon leaving the School, after deduction of any outstanding dues.
4. New Admissions
Fees paid at the time of admission (admission fee, caution deposit) are
not refundable if a student does not join the School or withdraws before
completing the first term, except where required by applicable regulations.
5. How to Request a Refund
- Email support@bishopcottonschool.org
with the subject line "Refund Request — [Student ID]".
- Include your student's name and ID, the receipt number, the amount paid, and the reason
for the refund request.
- Attach a screenshot of the payment confirmation from your bank if the receipt was not
generated.
We will acknowledge your request within 2 working days and aim to resolve it
within 15 working days.
6. Refund Method
Approved refunds are issued by cheque in the name of the parent
or guardian on record, regardless of the original payment method. Online reversal to cards,
UPI, or bank accounts is not available. The cheque may be collected from the School Fee Office
or dispatched by post upon written request. The School is not responsible for postal delays
once a cheque has been dispatched.
